MJM Recruit has partnered with a reputable National timber wholesaler; a family business and market leader built on the foundation of providing quality products and delivering exceptional customer service.

A newly created role, critical to the development of the business and an incredible opportunity to be involved in achieving strategic goals, developing categories, building key customer relationships, identifying opportunities and negotiating deals, building the Trade and Commercial business.

Primarily you will be responsible for developing and diversifying the trade and commercial categories so that future growth of the organisation is guaranteed.

  • Work closely with the Product Manager creating new business and product opportunities,

  • Report directly to the National Sales Manager, collaborating with the Sales Lead Team, working with the Field Sales, Marketing and Product Development Teams, 
  • Delivering sales objectives, motivating, coaching and training the sales team. 

What do you do?

  • Manage, build, retain positive relationships exploring needs, anticipating new opportunities, preparing and presenting solution focused presentations,
  • Develop state-based trade strategies in conjunction with the Sales Lead Team; 
  • Present and coordinate training to Bunnings Trade & Independent Groups on new products & services, 
  • Ensure alignment of the CRM system functionality to meet sales needs,
  • Research, identify and use new channels to market (architects etc.) introducing new ranges of products, services and distribution channels, 
  • Set and manage sales financial objectives, preparing annual sales and expenditure budgets, reviewing and initiating corrective actions,

What do you need?

  • Minimum of 10 years demonstrated professional sales experience; a thorough knowledge of building products, solutions / services and understanding market competition across Australia,
  • Experience with Specifiers and Architects/builders, with an established network of contacts in the building supply industry,
  • Previous relationship experience with Bunnings will be highly regarded,
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives,
  • Proven ability to understand and analyse sales performance metrics with a focus on complex problem solving,
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and manage workloads to meet deadlines,
  • Strong networking abilities; able to maintain and build positive relationships,
  • Experience in creating and performing professional presentations,
  • Ability to think strategically; commercial and operational focus,
  • Strong customer service attitude with excellent negotiation skills,
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to identify, develop and motivate talent,
  • Knowledge of CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite,
  • Tertiary degree in Business / Commerce is desirable,

This role will require occasional interstate and regional travel.
